miri #2

finally reach miri with my DSLR first brought back to my home town. XD. ok, most of the pictures that i took were shot using kit lens. mainly because the 50mm f1.8 was not mine (it was jeff) i had to convince him that if i broke it i would have to buy him a f1.4 50mm so that he would lend it to me. of course i dont even dare to use it. plus at least my kit lens got a filter attached to it, so at least, i feel safer.
so here it goes. accept all kinds of comments good or bad. but i do tell u not to expect good picts from me. spare my life man....

a portrait of an old friend of mine since young. i know.. i tried to generate eye contact with her but she was shy to face the camera. forgot about the 3 seconds rule. btw, she quite a beauty ei? perhaps she mentioned she might wana come out to kuching after graduate. more updates comming up.

a shot of a dish at secret recipe in miri.this is using 50mm f1.8 no doubt.

ok for this fork picture, i tried to be artistic but there some problem within it.. hm.... not sure about it.. as im still a toddler in photography (was born 1 month ago) i could not tell whats wrong with the pictures... perhaps i should had move my camera slightly more towards the food? and photo master who happens to view this by chance please lay some precious comment of yours.

a close up flowergraphy using.. yes! kit lens.

this is the back corridor of my house.

miri#1 (portrait)

introducing the very first so called model.. ms sherine. the shots were taken in kuching international airport just before i board the plane to miri. most of the pictures were shot using 50mm f1.8 lens with no flash supplement. all are raw and none edited. some of them may look dark but after edit, it may be brighter. im not the edit type of guy so i just leave the original quality of picture.

macro

same as the previous post. this time i tried a 50mm f1.8 lens to have a close shot of flowers. not very successful because i found out that the color composition is still bad.

i actually quite like this picture but it seems that i put my shutter speed way too high. so it appears to be dark.

day with ahsan and jeff

we first meet up at ahsan's house after lunch then head towards india street for some lens. hopping to get a 2nd hand lens at a good price. but no good hunt. tested a macro lens with jeff's pict in it XD.

those lens behind ahsan drools me.

we later went to ahsan's house to test out his 70-200mm L f4 lens.. it was a fantastic lens indeed. shots were then taken of course with the L lens.

test out

Meet up with jeff and san at the food court at king center for lunch.. tested some pictures shots to learn more about the control of light. No good pictures tho.

it is indeed very difficult to gain good control over the amount of light. as im still new, i have to try almost every different settings. until then i realize another problem. i was having problem with which pictures is the best with lights. i could not identify which is a bright or dark enough pictures. guess have to learn more.

first tutorial

Owning my first DSLR, I started to play around with it. My sifu, ahsan is indeed kind to provide me with a short basic tutorial for my snaps. It was all theory and I never like it. Took a few shots after that and honestly they are very bad. Worst pictures. Looks like there is still a long time until I can get good pictures. heres a photo of my sifu.

First practiced with what we called aperture. Pictures took with different modes to “get to know my DSLR well” said ahsan. well its actually not that hard to gain good shots but then again, im am amateur.. experience is what i lack of.

begins here

Was never a DSLR lover back then. I even criticize those people with big guns because to me it was a waste of money and overrated to own a DSLR. Until there was one day when im out for a photo taking with a bunch of photographers. I was tagged along because I was the driver cum tour guide. Ever since I tried those guns, I was very heavily poisoned. Due to some budget issues, I did not get a DSLR right away. After some saving and the help of my friends, I managed to come out with an entry level DSLR, the canon eos 1000D. it may the most basic DSLR, but it serves its purpose well.

A friend of mine suggested me an idea of establishing a photo journey so that I can further improve. Since I did not use this blog for some time so why not? In this blog, I will try to upload At least one photo in a few days and comment something about it. Hope that after some time I will begin to improve a become a better photographer.

officially yes, this blog is dead but also officially it had been converted into what people called a photo blog.

the real virgin picture. the first ever picture i took right after i open the box.

more to come.

cheers.
